What you will learn

Stud details

Every animal has an optional Stud details section when you add or edit it. Breed, registration number, herd book or class, sire, ear tag, tattoo, electronic ID, and how it was born and reared. None of it is required.

Lambing fills it in for you

When you record a lambing and type the sire, each lamb is created with its sire, dam, breed, and whether it was born a single, twin or triplet. If the sire is not in your list, his name is kept as text.

Weigh at the right stages

Weigh at birth and at weaning on the Breeding tab, under Weigh animals. There are also Post-weaning and Yearling stages for later weights.

The Stud tab

Open the Stud tab for the year. You see lambs ranked by weaning weight, with the weight corrected to 100 days, and the daily gain when the birth weight is known. Then you see the results of each sire and each dam.

Pedigree and birth list

Tap Pedigree on any animal to see its parents and grandparents and its own offspring. Tap Download the birth list for a spreadsheet of every lamb born that year, with dam, sire, birth type and birth weight, ready to copy into your breed society's forms.

Good to know

The app does not send anything to a breed society or to Logix. It keeps your records in a form that is easy to copy from. Check your society's own rules for what you must submit, and when.
