What you will learn

The Breeding tab

Open Animals, then the Breeding tab. It keeps the records that tell you how your flock is doing. Nothing here changes your reminders. It is your own record.

Join ewes with a ram

To join ewes with a ram, tick the ewes, choose the ram, and choose the date it went in.

Scan results

After scanning, choose the result for each ewe that was joined. Empty, one lamb, twins, or triplets.

Record lambing

To record lambing, choose the ewe and the date. Type the ID of each lamb born alive, and how many were born dead. The lambs are added for you, with their mother and birth date.

Weigh animals

To weigh animals, choose Birth, Weaning, or Other, then type the kilograms next to each animal.

Your results

The Results tab shows, for each mating season, how many ewes were joined, how many were in lamb, lambs born and weaned per 100 ewes joined, the average weaning weight, and the ewes that had no lamb. These are the numbers that help you decide which ewes to keep.

Sold, died or culled

For sold, died or culled animals, go to Animals and tap Select several. Tick the animals, tap Sold or removed, and choose what happened. You can add the buyer and the price. Their tasks stop and the record is kept. Every record can be opened under the animal's Records button and deleted if you made a mistake. You can download everything to a spreadsheet at the bottom of the Animals tab.
